"Cloud Animals" Tracklisting, Cytunes.org, The Evil Tenors
Tuesday, December 23, 2008 at 1:40 PM PST

There has been much activity in the world (strange though it may be) of Nathan Oliver.

First, and foremost! Our second album is called Cloud Animals and will be completed shortly. We will update with a release date soon. We are sorting out details for a release show in Chapel Hill, and out of town shows as well. For now, check out the tracklisting:

01. Icicles For Fingers
02. Under Lock & Key (featuring Wes Phillips)
03. French Press (featuring Billy Sugarfix)
04. State Lines Pt. 3
05. Playground Lies
06. A Dark History (featuring Maria Albani)
07. Alone In A Fog (featuring John Harrison and Wes Phillips)
08. How Small We Have Become
09. Red Panda
10. Leaf Spine
11. Cloud Animals

Secondly, we have two additional songs that were not included on the full-length. They are called "All The Pretty Girls Go To Sea" and "The Troubled Mother." The former is on Compulation Volume 3: Songs From North Carolina due out soon and the latter will be available via CyTunes.org for $1. CyTunes is a music downloading platform to celebrate the life of Cy Rawls and support medical advancements against brain cancer. All the profit goes to charity. Follow the link for more info.

Oh, and I started a new band with transplanted Detroit shoegazer Roy Elturk. Roy is the drummer from the band Oblisk. We are called THE EVIL TENORS. Check us out!

Lastly, join our mailing list for goodies. Who knows. You may get free advance copies of our new LP, stickers, compilations we're on. Wink. Pervy wink.

Sunday, November 9, 2008 at 8:15 PM PST

Hey Everyone!

We had a great weekend playing shows, recording, staying up past our bedtimes and attending the Troika Music Festival. Now we're tired and cranky.

Also, the Holly Raleigh Christmas 2008 CD came out! Download the mastered version of our submission to the album HERE: [Oh, The Winter]

We had an article in last week's Duke Chronicle. [check it]

THURSDAY

Is the Holly Raleigh Christmas CD Release party! It's at Tir Na Nog in Raleigh and starts around 6pm. We are playing for about 20 minutes with Regina Hexaphone and others. Come out, buy a Christmas CD, and support a great local cause--the Community Music School in Raleigh!

http://www.hollyraleighchristmas.org

FRIDAY

We are playing at the Armadillo Grill inside the Bryan Center on Duke's West Campus. It's through Duke Campus Concerts and it starts super early--5pm!!!! Come see us with Clang Quartet and our favorite goofball buddies Midtown Dickens!

SATURDAY

Here comes TROIKA. We may have a special buddy joining us on stage at Sirens Lounge (in Durham at 10:15 pm). Who could it be? A blast from our not-so-distant past?? We are playing with SCHOONER, our absolute favorites, as well as The Proclivities and Rat Jackson. Raunchy good.

Hey!! Long time no update.
Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at 8:01 AM PDT

SORRY!

We have been busy. I have submitted a few pieces of art for Minus Sound Research 3 at Wootini in Carrboro. This is an exhibit of visual art done by local musicians and is spearheaded by John Harrison (North Elementary, who has also been playing rather frequently with us on second guitar) and Maria Albani (Organos, Schooner, ex-Pleasant).

We played some weekend shows--one at Jack Sprat with the Mend (Asheville) and the Interiors (Chicago), as well as one at Snug Harbor in Charlotte with Anna Bullard and Elonzo. Fun times all around.

We have also finally begun tracking the last song for our record called "Alone In A Fog." Soooooo close to being done!

Aaaaaaanyway. You should totally come out this Thursday at 10:30 at the Cave to us perform with Brass Bed. Okay. Byebye for now.

new press - Shuffle Magazine!
Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 6:05 AM PDT

"...Nathan White weaves tales of strung-out isolation on his 2007 debut as Nathan Oliver. His elliptical narratives parallel the caustic rock sound, building in intensity as his frustration mounts. Each instrument stretches and distorts around the record's lonely persona, filling it with the restless mania of someone who has a whole lot to say but no one in particular to say it to."

Check out the PDF of the magazine here: Shuffle Magazine Issue 3 -- we're on pages 8 and 21.
